The joke that is Newcastle United showed itself once again when manager, Chris Hughton, was sacked yesterday.
The man took a shambolic side that had been relegated from the Premier League and secured promotion from the Championship in one season.
One season!
Sure, they were favourites to get out of that league but the team were in such disarray back then that it wouldn't have been surprising had they failed to achieve a ticket back into the top division.
I feel Mike Ashley has done unrepairable damage to the club ever since he has bought it and the lack of respect shown towards Hughton is a testament to my feeling.
