Shane Quits

For the second time this week, breaking news has prompted me to change a post - or two - that I had planned to publish.

Shane McMahon announced yesterday that he was resigning from his role in WWE.

This is big news as he - at one point in time - was the heir apparent to the wrestling empire currently being ruled by his father, Vince McMahon.

In recent years, it became clear he was happy with a vice president role working in the company's new media department while his sister - Stephanie - and her husband, Triple H, were looking likely to be in charge once Vince decides to cal it quits.

It's more or less guaranteed that Stephanie and Hunter will become the heads when that day arrives so yesterday's news was an important chapter in the history of pro wrestling.
