Scambaiting Radio

I listened to an Internet radio show this weekend and haven't laughed so hard in ages.

The show takes place at 6pm on Blog Talk Radio and is hosted by Dan Cottrell. The theme of the show is about baiting the scammers who send emails and attempt to rip off the people who fall for the story within the email.

As you have probably realised from reading the occasional post on here, I too have a laugh winding these people up but this radio show goes one step further.

The host has these people appear on the show, he plays different characters and the phone calls between him and the scammer are aired live. It is not uncommon for the recipient of the phone call to appear in subsequent weeks as Cottrell doesn't tell them they are being mocked.

A man called the 'Spiritual Man' was on there last night giving advice to the host on how he could get Gordon Brown removed from office for a fee of $80,000 US.

The most humourous part of the show is when the show lines up a load of numbers into the Skype switchboard and rings them all at once on a conference call. They all think the other has called and begin attempting to scam each other!

Yes, it is immature comedy at its finest but it comes for free because the more time these scammers are wasting on this show, the less they are doing so ripping the victims off.
