The Draft

Tonight sees the WWE doing their often annual Draft.

It's the night of the year where they vow to 'shake things up' and move certain characters across to different rosters to freshen up story-lines and angles.

In recent years, we haven't seen any major moves like Shawn Michaels moving to Smackdown or The Undertaker moving across to Raw. In fact, I very much doubt we will ever see either of those two change brands. They have seniority in the company and both - Michaels in particular - have shown a reluctance to change television shows.

Two moves that I think will happen tonight is Batista will move back to Raw and John Cena will return to Smackdown. Both these individuals will be in World title matches on Sunday and it will be an added incentive to buy the event if there is a question whether both World titles can appear on one brand.

The reason why I believe these two are moving is due to the Triple H and John Cena match being rushed forward to Night of Champions. This match is the kind of bout that would be built slowly and would have been the main event at SummerSlam. My suspicion is they booked this match because Cena is moving over.

Due to the Raw World title being one of the best selling pieces of merchandise - especially when Cena is holding it - I feel they will have to have Cena move across to Smackdown as champion and then have the Smackdown champion move over to Raw.

Batista faces Edge on Sunday. It would be a wise decision for the company to have Batista win the championship and take that belt to Raw.

Ironically, this scenario occurred in 2005 when Cena was the WWE champion on Smackdown and Batista was his equivalent on Raw.

One other major move will be Umaga heading to Smackdown. Vince McMahon made a note of this in his annual investors meeting so that roster change is about ninety-five percent certain.

Below are my ten picks for the draft. I believe that these characters would benefit the most from a change. They are in no particular order:

1. Umaga
2. Batista
3. Carlito
4. MVP
5. Trevor Murdoch
6. John Cena
7. CM Punk
8. Elijah Burke
9. Kelly Kelly
10. Mark Henry
