The Death Of Rileys

I found out that Rileys Snooker Club are hosting poker tournaments and looked into taking part in one. It resulted in one of the biggest headaches I have faced in regards to playing online poker.

I signed up for 888.com's version of Rileys Poker in order to take part in their online satellite for the final in Solihull which takes place in late August then I waited.

And waited.

It didn't load up my screen when it was time to play and I then realised I was being connected and disconnected from their server. Fearing that it was something to do with my new PC, I tried another way of logging in. This also turned out to be a fruitless effort.

A call to the helpline didn't resolve the situation, either. In fact it made me even more cross as I was put through to someone who was arguing with me over whether a zero was an 'O'. it took me three attempts to correct her.

I knew there and then I had no chance of making any progress in tonight's tournament. In fact - I am going one step further and will announce now that I will never play on 888.com, Pacific Poker, Rileys Poker or whatever title they care to name it again.

To quote one of the best teachers I met in college - They couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery.
