Rebuy Revisited

I decided to make another visit to the Grosvenor last night and take part in their £10 rebuy tournament.

It was a lot easier to settle down in there this time as I was used to the etiquette at the tables. I learned a lot from the first visit two weeks ago.

I still haven't figured out the winning the tournament bit just yet though! I did last three hours which is a little bit more than I did the first time.

The one thing that stands out the more I play is the different cast of characters you find playing. Last night there ranged from a skinheaded guy with tattos on his arm, a good looking girl, Old men to myself.

One of the old men seemed to have been around a bit telling stories of his recent trip to the United States. He even claimed to have met Doyle Brunson in a supermarket in Vegas during the World Series.

Something that makes these clashes in personalities so intriguing is that they all get along together with the banter at the table. If you placed them in a bunch in another environment I wouldn't be so sure they would as compatible.

At the first break in the tournament I had turned 2,000 chips (including1 rebuy) into 6,000 and was doing well - if I say so myself. I was losing and winning good hands until I had too much Dutch Courage and decided to call an all-in raise with a pair of sevens. The person who had made the raise was after my blood after I had taken some chips from him after hitting a flukey flush and I was thinking maybe he was playing with unpaired high cards and called his raise.

He turned over my favourite hole cards; soon to be my most hated hole cards.

And the ladies finsihed me off once again.
