Poor Judgment

The WWE Smackdown roster holds their Judgment Day (sic) pay per view tonight live from the state of Arizona.

The main event features Rey Mysterio defending the world title against John Bradshaw Layfield and will surely be the talk of the industry in the next few days.

This is because JBL has been causing controversy with his comments regarding Mexicans and there is one angle that I can see coming out of this.

Rey won the world title at Wrestlemania after dedicating his attempt to the late Eddie Guerrero who passed away in the latter part of 2005. It has been constant over the last few months for WWE to capitalise on the emotion of Guerrero's death by exploiting it in storylines and I have this gut feeling that tonight will include the latest installment in the exploitation.

In the build up on wwe.com Chavo Guerrero has been sitting in Rey's dressing room. Chavo is nephew to Eddie and was once co-holder of the WWE tag championship with his uncle. In recent weeks he has announced his retirement from wrestling because, as he put it, 'it's what Eddie would have wanted'.

The end of this match could see Chavo turn on Rey costing him the match and the championship and then joining up with JBL. This union would enhance the image of the American Layfield having a Mexican working under him.

It would also be a spit on the memory of Eddie having his nephew involved in this kind of angle considering it is in Arizona which is the place where, just weeks before his death, Guerrero moved his family into a dream home.

They say controversy sells tickets I guess we'll find out over the coming months.
