The Mania Of Wrestlemania

It is Wrestlemania Sunday. This is one of the days I look forward to most in the year.

As a young wrestling fan this was the day where all the big feuds reached their climax and newer feuds were established. Dream matches became reality and heroes became legends.

I am still that young wrestling fan.

Tonight the WWE put on their twenty-second event. This year the show takes place in Chicago, Illinois and has a a packed line up.

Torrie Wilson .v. Candice Michelle

The two Playboy centrefolds are set to fight each other in a pillow fight. I am sure this match will be given the shortest time on the whole card and will be used as a filler just to get their mainstream names out there. Seeing as Candice is the most recent cover girl I think she will be win the 'match'.

Boogeyman .v. Booker T & Sharmell

They say that this match is a handicap match but when you have a woman and possibly one of the worst wrestlers on the roster in the same ring the real handicap is on Booker T trying to get a decent match tonight. The Boogeyman is a good gimmick and the reactions of fear on the part of Booker and Sharmell has been good in the TV build up to the event. I am going with Booker and Sharmell winning here in a cheap victory that will keep the angle going until the summer.

Trish Stratus .v. Mickie James

The women's champion goes up against the psychotic former friend in what could be a good match. This match has been built ip well with Mickie turning on Trish two weeks ago to set up this feud. I see a Trish win here but a Mickie beat down after the victory in order to remain in the hunt for the title.

Kane & The Big Show .v. Chris Masters & Carlito

The world tag team champions will face the pairing of Masters and Carlito. Hopefully, the heels can win the belts and re-establish them as Big Show and Kane have done nothing with the straps since winning them last year.

Chris Benoit .v. John Bradshaw Layfield

The US championship is on the line in this match. I am hoping JBL wins this as a run with this belt will be hysterical. I can see him defending the honour of America with his outrageous gimmick.

Edge .v. Mick Foley

The return of Mick Foley to a Wrestlemania event is good. The return of Mick Foley to a hardcore rules match is even better!
This match will have its fair share of bumps but I cannot see Edge walking out without a victory. He is 4-0 for winning at Wrestlemania and think that will carry on to 5-0 after beating Foley tonight.

The Undertaker .v. Mark Henry

This match is a casket match. There will be one winner and it's not going to be Mark Henry. The Taker is 13-0 at Wrestlemania and will remain undefeated this year.

Bobby Lashley .v. Dave Finlay .v. Matt Hardy .v. Shelton Benjamin .v. Rob Van Dam .v. Ric Flair

Last year's money in the bank match was won by Edge. Winning this match means you get the chance to have a world title shot within the year at your pleasing. With the ECW pay per view taking place in June ideally it should be Rob Van Dam winning tonight so he can have the title shot at the ECW show.

Vince McMahon .v. Shawn Michaels

The WWE owner goes up against the controversial Shawn Michaels in a match that is playing off the Montreal screwjob which took place in 1997. The WWE has teased Bret Hart and it would be a great Wrestlemania moment to see Bret get involved in this match knocking out both Michaels and McMahon but I cannot see that happening. Shawn should win.

Kurt Angle .v. Randy Orton .v. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio goes up agaisnt Randy Orton and the world champion Kurt Angle in a triple threat match. As Rey ahs dedictaed this match to Eddie Guerrero I really do hope that the event ends ona good note with Mysterio holding the belt up high alongside the Guerrero family.

John Cena .v. Triple H

John Cena is in big trouble. The fans have not been friendly to Mr Cena since they got tireed with him being the world champion and at last night's Hall of Fame ceremony he was booed out of the building. He is up agaisnt Triple H and we could see the heel get cheered over the champion.
There has been a lot of decisions changed back and forth about the outcome of this match and if last ngith was anything to go by I belieev the WWE may be backed in to a corner and have to let HHH turn in to the good guy during this match and have Cena becoem the bad guy and let Cena retain the title. You can't have too many title switches on one card and I think the money may be in a bad guy John Cena feuding with a babyface Triple H at the next pay per view event.
